Have just been pondering on the word of God more and more these days. What is means to have been saved and to have been redeemed. What it means when I do not do good works in order to go to heaven, but by following Jesus with all my heart, mind and soul.

Mercy is not giving us what we deserve. For all the sins committed, surely i deserve death. Yet in all his loving kindness, he did not punish us.

Grace is giving us what we do not deserve. Not being punished by death would have been good enough, but he went on to sacrifice his son, Jesus, in order that we might have all our hope in him, the son of God, seated in heaven.

Is it really all about going to heaven? Or is there something else? What is eternity? It's just great tynking of eternity spending time praising God and singing songs to him. And all that at a cost of.....nothing? I do not have to do anything. It has been done. Not by good works, but by responding to the transformation power of God, that will bring about the great change in us.

That is all i want. To follow God...Because he first called me and reached out to me, and was faithful to me even when i was being such an unfaithful child. He still loved me so much. This love, can anyone, anything ever give me this unconditional and perfect love? To me, Jesus is more than a God. He's a friend, soulmate, a father, a brother, a comforter, a tower of refuge.
